Could someone give me a list of everything I would have to buy if I wanted to start generating power for my home using wind?

This isn’t a full list but here’s a start:
1. Talk to your local government and find out if you can legally have wind turbines. If it’s legal, buy any necessary permits.
2. Find a electrician willing to work on the project
3. Find a company that sells the necessary kit.
A good book on the subject.
you should:
1.get a book
2. learn about the wind patterns in you area
3.see what is the defect of wind power
4. go on the Internet
5.coagulate how much you are spending on energy
6. see how much it would cost to get installed
Your question is rather like asking "Would someone give me a list of everything, so I can build a car from scratch?"
Not quiet as complex as a car, but a good wind turbine that puts out a decent amount of energy is not simple.
My husband is VERY mechanically gifted. My husband owns an EXTENSIVE set of tools. My husband work on the commercial wind turbines.
We will not be building a wind turbine from scratch…we will be purchasing a pre-fab model, and puttting it together ourselves.
Does that give you an idea how complex it might be?
You need to be able to regulate the energy output, so in high wind it’s not sending mega power down lines, and blowing up your lightbulbs, or frying your computer.
You need to be able to slow the blades down, so that the turbine does not burn itself up, ect. So much you have to know how to do.
Not to mention making and installing balanced blades, so the turbine does not beat itself to death.
So far my husband is most impressed with Skystream 3.7 turbines. Those are the ones we will probably install.
