A lot of solar energy is used for heating water and drying solid agro products. But when trying to calculate the energy produced it is not accurate since the use is so widespread and there is no accurate way of collecting all the data. On this account I think wind energy is the most used. This is because wind energy is normally connected to a electricity generator and hence the power produced is accounted for and all the data are collated. Hope it is clear enough to understand.
i am not sure what you mean by most used. by abundance i think solar is correct, but wind power is being adapted by many cities, thus creating a larger abundance in energy.
i can name some others…if you like
water Turbine energy or wave power- Ocean turbines connected on a line, thrown in the water and the ocean knocks around the turbine creating energy. the turbines collect the energy and send it back to the central location. this is different than Hydro power (ie dams) not many people know about this

Also they are producing solar power paint for cars and solar power asphault. —if you are doing solar power

http://www.greenbiz.com/ –this will help as well. you can touch on how businesses stay green.
there is so much information out there.
Check out these links for your answer. It is two short articles.
Hi S,
The most used alternative energy source I would say is solar energy. The sun’s energy or the solar energy is the most abundant form of energy available on earth. The sun is capable of giving us more than heat and light. The sun has been one of the biggest factors dictating every living being’s stay on the earth. If we go the right path, we can harness more from the solar energy, like generating power for daily use.
Hard to believe but every second there is enough energy coming from the sun to fore fill our energy needs for a year.Harnessing it is our problem but even that is getting more efficient.
solar energy….
