My BF wants to go to school to be a wind turbine tech. I want to find out where these farms are located to see where we would have to move to be closer to where he would work. I can't find a map, or list of wind farm locations, not even on wind power company websites like Vesta.

I only know of the Columbia Gorge wind farm in Oregon. (which is where we are now, and would probably like to stay.) When I google I only seem to find articles pertaining to NIMBY protests.

I work at a place where people drop off stuff for free, and I salvage what I can and sell the items for just enough to pay for the electricity bill. I was wondering what kind of items that would normally be no good would have a motor in it that would be good for a wind turbine. As a company that pushes for going green, I think having green energy, by making wind turbines, would be great for this small company.

I was discussing with an adversary of mine the possibility of this. I think it is possible over a period of time for a small wind generator to produce the same amount of energy that a gallon of gas will produce.
I saw a homemade wind turbine done with 50 gallon drums on Youtube. It was very practical and easy to build. My question is. What is the length of time that it would take to generate the same amount of energy from a gallon of gasoline?

A simple question, hopefully with a simple answer.

I need to generate 10,000,000kWh per year via wind and solar power.
With 8760 hours in the year, please presume 2500 full hours of good wind.
How many turbines do I need and of what rating? What is the most efficient set up?
At peak operation I need to generate a minimum of 370,000 kWh per month.
For the solar power I have 10,000 metre2 of available space.

The numbers may look big, but they are all correct, this is a serious question.
