1. Explain how wind energy stores potential energy and how it is transformed into other types of energy?
2. How would the loss of wind energy affect any activity that one does on a daily basis and what energy resource would you have used instead?

Is wind energy safer than nuclear power?

I was rather surprised to read that wind energy has caused more injuries to humans than nuclear power in America. The articles are interesting and short.

just tell me facts about mars and solar atomic wind energy!! :)

how does wind energy reach the customer?

As in from windmills/wind farms that capture the wind energy and transform it into electricity... i really really need a source, like a website or article, with it too. thanks!

is it feasible to charge the battery with wind turbine instead of solar panels. would i get enough power from the wind to charge the battery? or the DC motor driving the car would consume all of the battery charge before it will get charged from the wind turbine??

what about the wind powered cars?!! www.windturbineracer.com
the cars move with only wind energy.why can't we convert this energy into electricity to drive the motor?!!

are there chemical reactions in wind energy?

any kind of chemical reactions in wind energy or wind turbines?

I have to do a physics project on wind energy. Can anybody give me any websites that show the physics of wind energy?
I'm a senior

Wind energy is on the verge of energy self reliance. If it succeed, will the oil and tire companies buy it out and destroy it like they did to mass transit in the 1920s and 1930s?

Could you spin these if air is forced in these directions (up or down)? I am thinking of say a pipe with a series of small turbines in line. Restricting air after each one to produce greater speed of air to the next. I would also like to cut out part of the pipe next to them to bring in wind energy if that's even possible to spin them inside the pipe. Would these just oppose each other, any idea if it would work and create more rpms? Sorry, I'm just an architecture student so I lack the knowledge for this unless I make models to test it, don't want to waste my time if someone knows. I have worked on aircraft engines before so I have that knowledge of compressors, just not how the forces would move in this idea.... Thanks for any help. Here is a turbine for an example.

Not sure what you mean. I do not know how air moves across these. Does it just push on the wind side and leave the turbine in a straight line once it rotates to the other side? Or does it push against it and follow the curved paths up or down?

If we gave blood for oil. Wind energy would be more efficient. We need to be thinking green.

Conversion of wind energy into electrical energy?

What is some information on the efficiency of the conversion process with converting wind energy into electrical energy by a wind turbine?

How does the energy production using wind energy compare to other sources? (such as solar, geo thermal, ect.)
Also, i need a diagram or picture to show how the energy is produced using wind energy

- where in Canada/Ontario is this method used?
- advantages and disadvantages of using this method
- benefits or hazards to the environment when using this method
- how does energy production using this energy source compare with energy production from solar power?
- how much energy can be produced by this method; is it enough to be used alone or must it be used with another energy source?
- summarize the process
- are there any commercial products that you know of that are powered by wind energy?

If you could help answers any of these questions, or just give me good pictures or websites to find information on it would be super helpful. Thanks! :)

in wind energy converstion, if wind turbine is connected to the squirrel cage induction generator converting mechanical enery to electrical energy when winis sufficient if it is not sufficient at that time how we can generate electrical enery continuously

what is a WM when talking about wind energy?

i have a project due and we have wind energy and when i find numbers it says a number and then WM. What does the WM mean?

such as: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/ene_win_ene_ins-energy-wind-installation

I have an MS in engineering, 20 years experience, mostly in the software business working with clients in a teaching/consulting role. What education/experience is required for wind energy and how do I get it?

out of coal, wind energy, and solar energy, which is the best for producing electrical energy????

i need help by tonight! this is for a project for school tomarro! helpp hellppp pleasseeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!! i need help on that question with deatil and explanation! please and thank you!

i love you all who help me on this! :)

How can I make a model car move with wind energy?

My project consists of building a 'model' car, which I've done, and supplying some sort of 'wind energy' to make the car move, however, the actual supplier of the energy cannot physically touch the car. Any ideas? :)

I want to start with a question that will grab the readers attention. I also need some help trying to come up with a good thesis statement. The questions I would like to answer in my paper are: What is wind energy? What are the advantages and disadvantages to wind energy? Why is wind energy so important to the future of renewable resources?

1. Study after study shows that wherever wind development was put in place, natural gas demand went up and the environmental benefits were the opposite of what the advocates expected.

“Cycling” coal plants to accommodate wind generation makes the plants operate inefficiently, which drives up emissions. Moreover, when they are not operated consistently at their designed temperatures, the variability causes problems with the way they interact with their associated emission control technologies, frequently causing erratic emission behavior that can last for several hours before control is regained. Ironically, using wind to a degree that forces utilities to temporarily reduce their coal generation results in greater SO2, NOX and CO2 than would have occurred if less wind energy was generated and coal generation was not impacted.”

2. There is a huge disparity between installed capacity and actual output into the system. In many cases the actual output in the system is less than 20% and in some cases even far less.

There are other unsavory facts that are included in these graphics such as the area required by a wind farm compared to, e.g., nuclear power plant. The Roscoe wind farm in Texas occupies 100,000 acres for a bit less than 800 MW of installed capacity; the Palo Verde nuclear power plant in Arizona occupies 4,050 acres (4 percent of the Texas wind farm) but has a 500 percent larger power capacity (almost 4,000 MW.)

Even more obscene are the government subsidies that go into wind power. For an energy source that barely exceeds one percent of energy output, wind subsidies are per megawatt hour, about 60 times of the {content}.44 per megawatt hour that go to the mainstay of US electrical power output, coal and 100 times the {content}.25 per megawatt hour that go to natural gas, the two sources that account for over 70 percent of US power supply. Way to go for social engineering.

how can we store solar energy & wind energy?

i need to use solar &wind energy to run vechicles plz help me about how to store solar &wind energy . then convert this into mechanical energy

How does Wind energy work?EASY 10 POINTS?

Can you Explain to me how Wind energy work?

We all know how much more powerful nuclear energy is. I don't get it, is it a fad? Solar and Wind energy is a waste of land and ineffective. Yea the technology is probably going to improve, but so is nuclear technology. I don't know much about this stuff, this is simply my assumption.

I am doing a project and i need to make a poster that gives ALOT of info. about wind energy such as wind turbines. So, if you have any ideas for me i could put down, i would greatly appreciate it
Thanks =)

What is the price of wind energy electricity?

I would like to compare the price of wind energy, either the cost of one unit of electricity or the cost of a turbine ect. against the rising prices of oil, to see whether wind energy is a sensible investment. All figures have to be accurate, any websites I could find this information on I would be very very grateful for! thanks!
