What are the drawbacks to using wind turbines or solar panels for providing all power to a home?
A. The wind and sun are not constant, so there would be times when no electricity would be generated.
B. The wind and sun are constant, so there would be plenty of electricity for the home.
C. Wind and solar power are inefficient and too expensive to use and maintain.
D. Wind and solar power are efficient, but they are not able to produce enough electricity for a single home.

Is Ethanol the answer? I read that Brazil is using sugar cane for bio-fuel. Be it corn, soybeans, or sugar cane, growing bio-fuels will strongly deplete our soils without using heavy fertilizers. Can we possibly harness wind and solar power for all our energy sources? Some of these technologies may exist, but they are not being allowed to be used. Even a car that runs on water.

A simple question, hopefully with a simple answer.
I need to generate 10,000,000kWh per year via wind and solar power.
With 8760 hours in the year, please presume 2500 full hours of good wind.
How many turbines do I need and of what rating? What is the most efficient set up?
At peak operation I need to generate a minimum of 370,000 kWh per month.
For the solar power I have 10,000 metre2 of available space.
The numbers may look big, but they are all correct, this is a serious question.
Thanks in advance.
If any of you work for a wind turbine/solar panel manufacturer/installer and want to discuss this, please email me your professional email address and I will contact you via that.

I'm doing a video for school that has to persuade people to use nonrenewable resources such as wind or solar power. What is a good song that is very similar to One Tribe by the Black Eyed Peas?
Thanks!

P.S- please no rap, metal, hard music, etc. Only sweet music!

I only invest in small-cap energy based companies like oil, gas, petroleum, and more recently, wind and solar power.
What I would like to know is how exactly do wind and solar power companies make their money? Please, I'd like to understand the industry a bit better. Thanks!

Hey guys, what are (in your opinion) the advantages and disadvantages of any of the following types of hydro generation.
Fossil Fuel
Nuclear Power
Hydroelectric
Solar Power
Tidal Power
Wind Power
Thanks In advance!

Okay, here's what I read; Bill Gates has very little involvement with Microsoft these days and is slowly dumping all of his MS shares quietly, and reinvesting his money into renewable energy stocks like wind and solar power. Is this really true that he realises Microsoft is under the knife to the likes of Google and Apple and he knows it so he's doing this? Just curious.

im doing a project for school and it asks what are the problems associated with alternative energy sources.
now, i know fossil fuels(coal, oil etc...) create greenhouse gasses but solar power, it seems there is nothing wrong with it
is there anything wrong with it?

why should more people use solar power and wind power? and what are the benefits of both of them? does it save you money, how much and how much will it help the earth if one person decided to use them? what about a hundred people? what would happen if everyone and every building, cars, trains, airplanes, EVERYTHING in the whole world started using solar/wind power?
oh sorry, forgot about water power. what about water power? again, water power benifits, same as above.

I think they buy solar power (if you generate a ton) but I was wondering if they bought back wind? I was thinking about making some homemade turbines for a winter project.

K Im doing a survey to see what the most efficient energy alternative is. The choices for the survery are water power, wind power, geothermal power, nuclear power, biomass power, or solar power.
*Note if you can, give reasons why this is the best one

Hello,
I was wondering if one day I wanted to buy good products for generating energy from alternative resources like the Wind power and the Solar power, which companies are the best in supplying those kinds of generators?
I'm not just thinking of small generators for homes, I'm thinking of a bigger level too. Like for big industrial companies or even National level!
Thanks a lot for your expertise exchange

Would this be extra helpful in locating platforms out of sight of people in order to preserve the natural coastal horizan from shore? Wouldn't this be easy to expand in locations where it was already built in order to keep up with increases in electrical demand without increasing carbon emissions? Could any country build this as long as it had coastline? Could this be sent to areas with natural disastors or predicted energy shortages as a way to help keep the power running? Could platforms also desalinate water and produce hydrogen on site? Could Solar Power also be located on it?

why are the environmentalist blocking wind power? in some parts of the usa. You would think they would want wind power everywhere. They say wind power kill birds. those blades move to slow to kill a birds i think. There also blocking solar power in the desert. why?
