I'm writing a paper on the benefits of wind and solar energy, in both an economic and social context. Though I appreciate your personal opinion on its benefits, I would REALLY appreciate some possible sources to give me a start on the paper. Please keep in mind that I am not looking for a political discussion or opinions, this is for a graduate-level paper and I am to only write about the benefits of wind and solar energy - so sharing your personal beliefs about the negative effects of alternative energy does not interest me or anyone else and they will be ignored.
Thanks!

How does wind energy, tidal energy and solar energy relate to chemistry?

Solar energy doesn't seem to be very practical since there is only an average of 3.5 hours of full sun. There isn't enough wind in my area to produce much electricity. What other options are there?

Some places rely on solar and wind energy right? To power their homes and such. How do they use energy in the night or when there is no wind? Do they have something that stores the energy like a big battery or something?
I have to “make” a green city and it will use renewable energy source including solar and wind energy. How would I make the wind and solar energy sustainable and not have shortages of power?

I am researching on renewable energy.
So far I know Singapore has implemented biomass, solar energy and fuel cells.
The problem that I am facing is that when I search the net for renewable energy, all the information given are not within Singapore region. I need someone to tell me where can I find more information on renewable energy in Singapore.
Do anyone know which companies uses renewable energy? Who can I find to know more about the topic?
Is there any other students doing major project on renewable energy? If yes, email me. I hope to work together to produce good results.
Thanks a Lot!

ok, so I'm preparing a speech on renewable energy. Primarily solar energy. . . . can anyone give me some facts and figures to incorporate, perhaps some angles I havn't thought of yet? I plan on appealing to the emotional side of saving the environment and the logical side of saving money on your monthly energy bill (it's to be a persuasive speech) . . . so perhaps the efficiency rating of solar panels, or that average energy produced by wind? or even better if someone has some figures on the california rebates given for solar panel installation. Thanks for the assistance

If the paint could collect solar energy to charge a battery, and then once the car starts moving, other fibers in the paint could convert the wind passing over the car to electrical energy, wouldn't this be a way to decrease our dependency on fossil fuels. Is there any technology out there that can do such a thing?

Well the question says it all really, thanks x
p.s renewable energy resources are things like solar energy, tidal energy etc.

What do you think about this? Could we be seeing these solar dyes on all new buildings within 5 years? Would you be willing to put these panels on all the windows in your house? Could this technology make solar energy the most commonly used alternative energy source?

I live in a very hot and open area, so solar energy will work perfect since the sun shines the whole day with no shadows from trees, and since it is open it is also windy at times too

I need to know how much of the world's energy is produced by solar energy, then geothermal energy, then wind energy. I can't seem to find it anywhere...only how much energy it COULD produce.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

o What are some challenges with using and managing wind power, solar energy, and biomass fermentation as alternative renewable
energy resources?
o Name at least one other renewable energy resource.
o Include a response to the following: Nonrenewable energy resources include coal,
oil, and natural gas. Describe three common challenges with managing
nonrenewable energy resources.
