Okay so i am doing this project over Renewable energy and i have deeply thought about this. Is solar energy really Renewable? Because if the sun is slowly burning out, and may become Complete darkness one day, it wont make Solar power a Renewable resouce because it will Never last forever right?

Anything that can be used to make heat or electricity without unsustainable fuels and which does not make a net contribution of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. This includes wind power, waves and the tides, solar energy, geothermal energy and biomass. the most profitable field when it comes to renewable energy is solar power. It seems as if the biggest “controversy” regarding solar power is the amount of space required for the solar panels to capture the solar energy which is converted to electricity.

Out of solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric power, hydrogen fuel cells, tidal or wave energy, nuclear energy, and biomass which is the most common used?

When I was in Arizona, there was a whole field where huge solar panals collected sun energy. Why arent more ideas like that being used? Think of all the southern states that recieve plenty of sunshine for solar energy. Think of all the mountainous areas and flats that would be great for wind power. Why should money be an issue when it would more than pay for itself in the long run?

A. When a hydoelectric dam is built, thousands of acres of nearby land are flooded.
B. The production of solar energy does not pollute the air and will require the manufacture and installation of new equipment.
C. Biomass is readily available and can produce emissions similar to that of coal.
D. Landfills are ofter owned and operated by business people who sell the methane to utility companies.

Only 80 billion(roughly 10% of the "Stimulus" bill) was spent on renewable energy. Nothing is being done to develop said technologies. More of the bill was spent on pork and earmarks than was spent on infrastructure and energy, two of our biggest needs. We can supply enough power to meet 100% of our needs through Solar energy. The technology is out there already. Why are we not doing this? Does this give an open window for a Republican to come in and propose better solutions for energy independence and clean energy?

Some places rely on solar and wind energy right? To power their homes and such. How do they use energy in the night or when there is no wind? Do they have something that stores the energy like a big battery or something?

I'm writing a paper on the benefits of wind and solar energy, in both an economic and social context. Though I appreciate your personal opinion on its benefits, I would REALLY appreciate some possible sources to give me a start on the paper. Please keep in mind that I am not looking for a political discussion or opinions, this is for a graduate-level paper and I am to only write about the benefits of wind and solar energy - so sharing your personal beliefs about the negative effects of alternative energy does not interest me or anyone else and they will be ignored.
