ok, so I'm preparing a speech on renewable energy. Primarily solar energy. . . . can anyone give me some facts and figures to incorporate, perhaps some angles I havn't thought of yet? I plan on appealing to the emotional side of saving the environment and the logical side of saving money on your monthly energy bill (it's to be a persuasive speech) . . . so perhaps the efficiency rating of solar panels, or that average energy produced by wind? or even better if someone has some figures on the california rebates given for solar panel installation. Thanks for the assistance

And take the fed gas tax and put the entire amount toward research for alternative fuels sources. That way there would be funding for research for renewable energy, and rebates for folks who actually save the environment and use less gas. Currently we have no incentive to save gas, other than the pocket book, and as soon as the price of gas goes below everyone will be buying Hummers again.
When demand goes down, so will the price....

I stumbled upon a site for a renewable energy, alternative energy plant in Ireland, it looked interesting & I was about to read it when I was interrupted. When I came back my wee bundle of joy had Sonic, (the obnoxious rodent) up on the screen & my Ireland article was gone. *so sad* Does anyone know what I was reading or referring to? Sorry my description is so vague.

I was asked for a school assignment to choose an informative article on a topic that interests me and answer some questions about it. I picked a National Geographic article called Green Dreams, which is about future forms of renewable energy. go google the article if you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm just trying to make sure that I actually picked an informative article. Thanks!

i listened to obama today about the new bill being passed to "help" build new jobs. Even though more people will most likely lose jobs. But what i'm confused on is he said that moving towards renewable energy will help in stopping the bubble and burst economics we are in.
Can someone explain to me how bubble economics, which is a result of planned economics (aka the federal reserve), has anything to do with renewable energy?

Lawmakers only focus on these high gas prices. I think they should look into investing funds into renewable energy and alternative fuels.
This is the only way we can successfully become energy independent. And these fossil burning fuels are ruining the environment.
For example they could put _______ billion dollars into automobile companies so they could lower the cost of hybrid cars, and _____ billion in the production of these vehicles.

i want to become involved in the field of alternative or renewable energy as an engineer when i am older. i am wondering what sort of science and math classes would be most important. also any other class suggestions. and my school offers just about anything you can think of so don't hesitate to offer whatever you think would be best.

I hear you, you are sick of Al Gore and aren't convinced in the science behind global warming. But would you buy renewable energy anyway, since it pollutes less? Even if it cost a little more? Say extra a month for 200KwH if your Electric Company offered it? It would be nice if congress passed a law that required Electric Companies to offer renewable energy so that at least you would have the option to buy renewable if you wanted to?

I am moving to Dallas, and in Dallas they have like 20 different electric companies and some offer 100% renewable energy such as Green Mountain. I come to the conclusion that the cost is about 30-40% more than ones who don't use renewable energy. Do you think paying the difference is worth it?

The oil companies take the money they make and buy back there own stocks so the value of the stocks go higher.. Shouldn't they reinvest the money in renewable energy

I am a mechatronics student and I would like to apply my education in a project related to renewable energy.
I have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering. Mechatronics is my postgrad study. Maybe that's why I am directed towards energy applications for mechatronics.
