Jobs that require an AAS in Alternative Energy?

I'm thinking about getting my Associates in Applied Science for Alternative Energy and was wondering what kind of jobs I would be looking at. Any ideas as to what jobs require this? What would the pay be? How much more would I make with a Bachelors?

If homeowners and small business invested in solar and residential wind turbines, it would not only create jobs but reduce the need for any more power plants than we have already.

i want to do masters in wind energy plz suggest me that wind energy has jobs in europian countries r in in any where ..

im doing a project on wind energy what are some jobs that involve wind energy
please help i've been looking all over the internet and cant seem to find anything

How is wind energy going to create jobs?

Not including the green jobs the free market has already taken into account.
Wind energy costs 25% more than coal. In essence our energy productivity will go down by 25%.
Whenever has productivity going down created jobs?
Do not give me the foreign oil, the only time foreign oil is used in energy production is for peeker plants. Wind can not replace that.
As an engineer I like the idea of power and all kinds of power. Also as an engineer I can not see a more expensive means creating jobs.

Obama seems to be promising green jobs forever with nothing to show for. Inquiring mind wants to know why.
gws : are you not aware of the Chinese push for innovation drive lately?

First they own news networks that actively promote Obama and Democrats. MSNBS is a 24 hr campaign ad for Obama,
Second -They are the recipient of "Green Jobs" for wind power generation even though the jobs are almost all in their China plants.
Third - They were recipients of TARP funds and would have gone under without them. How does that make GE executives qualified to tell Obama how to run the country? Should we get some AIG guys as advisers also?
But why not have one that was a failure advise you. GE Finance would have failed without TARP and GE only has "Green Jobs" for growth.
Why not pick a winner to advise him instead of a loser.

Question about contracting on wind farms?

This is a weird one... my boyfriend and I want to move to Ireland (he's from there) and we're looking into jobs for him. He's an electrician, but NOT an electrical engineer. He'd love to get a job working on one of the new wind farms, but all the postings we've seen are for jobs at upper-management level. We figure they're outsourcing the more physical-labor-intensive jobs, but have no idea how to find one of those.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I should clarify: He's not an engineer and doesn't know the industry. He's an all-around knowledgeable electrician. We're just looking for information on which contracting companies might be doing the labor.

Nearly billion in money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been spent on wind power, funding the creation of enough new wind farms to power 2.4 million homes over the past year. But the study found that nearly 80 percent of that money has gone to foreign manufacturers of wind turbines.

So Where Are the Green Jobs Obama promised?
Steel Rat - You didn't read the story and what you are whining about is not addressed in this story.
Steel rat - Last time I was in California I literally saw hundreds, possibly thousands of the windmills generating electric.

What you don't see to understand is that my article states that the money spent in the bailout did not create any jobs here in the USA. While we have manufacturers here in the USA, the money was shipped to an overseas manufacturer.

This was not what Obama promised and I am pointing this out.

If a wind farm works, more power too them. But I should not have to subsidize it with tax money. If it stands on its own and it can make money, then that is great. Otherwise don't force me to send tax money to Washington to subsidize a private company.

Do you think you can't afford this? Ever look at youtube videos about Solar Photovoltaic Electricity and how easy it is to get it installed. Have you gotten any local estimates? Small wind turbines on roofs. Just another simple, maintenance free appliance, live a TV roof satellite TV dish, but Solar are panels on your roof. Patches right into you electric company and the Electric company buys excess power during the date. Rebates make it very affordable. Get 3 quotes in your area. Investigate Solar Power, Solar Hot water, Small Wind turbines, Solar PV panels are warranted 25 Years. It's a long-term saving, but as prices rise so do you saving and payback. You don't know if it SUCKS or is GOOD unless you've looked into it. Many are surprise voltage goes up in colder temperatures. So you don't have to be in CA to benefit big time. Creates Jobs too for installers and manufacturers, etc. Give the question a try though, what do you think?

What are some jobs or careers offered by wind turbine manufacturing companies and industries of wind turbines technology?

How employable would someone with a Doctorate in Applied Physics be, in the alternative energy/green technology field?

What kind of jobs would such a person have?

... raise the cost of manufacturing steel and aluminum and other things in the US by forcing carbon taxes onto business, and thus, consumers ... sending yet more jobs overseas and raising prices to hurting families?
China is investing in oi exploration in Brazil and Russia. Obama is making us dependent on foreign oil by refusing to explore in the US.

what i am saying is to make a smaller power generating wind turbine and replace the propellers with a bike.....if this was possible how much power/jobs could this open up?

I'm interested in solar power in particular, but everything is game. I'd like suggestions on appropriate majors and/or courses, and work experiences/jobs I should look out for.
Are there any universities where strides in this field are being taken/interesting research is being done?

Is there any other things that wind turbines do that are good, other then produce energy? for example jobs? Any others....
Thanks : )

I'm drawing a poster for a contest, and it's promoting the use of renewable energy. I have the title coming across the top as "Cleaner Energy for a Cleaner World", and I would like to have this sentence in the middle of the page:

"Using renewable energy sources can lower expenditures, create jobs and a healthier environment for all."

I'm not sure about the "lower expenditures", what can I replace that with? I just want to make sure that I'm not saying an incorrect phrase haha. Thanks!!

Besides the fact that most countries need more power as time goes by anyway, won't this also mean more and more jobs and faster and faster energy independence for every country that expands building windmills more and more as time goes by?

What type of job can u get in Alternative energy?

I am a sphomore in college and i am interested in alternative energy but im not sure how to start a career in it so i was wondering if anybody new what type of jobs there are involving alternative energy that would be a good career to get into when i graduate college in about 4 years.

It would create more jobs and we wouldn't be destroying the very thing we sought out to protect, The Appalachian Mountain range, and other natural resources.

Hi I would like to work on building science like install panel solars, wind and you know building science also I want to star a business sell products of renewable energy like solar panels, wind, hydro, etc.

So which career can fit in those jobs? thanks

I'm 22 and I need to do something with my life. The salaries of the two careers are around the same, but I want a job that will last. Renewable energy is suppose to be big in the future, but I'm sure how many jobs will be available. Any suggestions?

Wind Energy Jobs

Wouldn't it create more jobs and be better for the environment, and also reduce dependency on foreign oil?

What are some reasons why some people are against alternative energy?
