Might wind turbines cause localised climate change?

Although I certainly believe that renewable energy is preferable to fossil fuel burning, I've been thinking, is it not possible that these options will cause their own forms of climate change? For example, wind turbines should cause a small decrease in wind speed, and as climate is a chaotic system who knows what the end result could be due to the "butterfly effect."

Likewise, hydroelectricity should cause a change in surface heat retention (due to the fact that water retains heat longer than solid ground), whilst solar power will increase the reflective properties of the ground possibly reducing surface heat take-up.

What are your opinions on this?
Also, what options do you think we have instead? Do we have ANY?

Hey guys, what are (in your opinion) the advantages and disadvantages of any of the following types of hydro generation.
Fossil Fuel
Nuclear Power
Hydroelectric
Solar Power
Tidal Power
Wind Power
Thanks In advance!

A lot of the "energy" for electric cars comes from fossil fuels. So, I don't think you're making much of a difference with electric cars (you're simply trading one fossil fuel for another). So if an electric car got engery from an electric "gas station" that was fueled by wind power (or another renewable source), would it be more eco-friendly?

Science Class Question: I had to choose four non-renewable energy resources used today, and pick one that wasnt a fossil fuel. I choose oil/petroleum, natural gad, coal and uranium

alternative energy to replace fossil fuel?

im writing a paper and needed help on:

recommend an alternative energy to replace the U.S dependency on fossil fuel?

Essay Prompt...What is the most important environmental problem we face and why? ....................................................................................................................................................................................................

I believe the most telling environmental problem that the United States (and many other countries) will face in the near future will be the transition away from a fossil fuel based society. In order to accomplish this, we must make a concerted push towards an environmentally conscious, technologically advanced, and humanistic renewable energy generation. The resources available to achieve this are essentially limitless, with new ways to utilize them being introduced almost daily. As a matter of fact, there are some extremely promising options that are already in use, such as the production of wind, solar, and geothermal energy. Ultimately though, it will be public policy and political decision makers which will dictate whether or not these efforts are successful, halfhearted, or even pursed at all.

Let me know what I can do to improve this, best answer will get best answer....

I am doing a report on alternative energy.......if you have any info on slar energy, hydroelectricity, geothermal energy, or tidal energy, it would be much appriecieted!!! im looking for websites, or online articles. i need to know how its gathered, if its renewable, posotive aspects to this energy source, negative a spects, primary uses of this energy source, is it more available in other parts of the world that others, is this energy source economical copared to fossil fuels, what impact it has on the enviroment, and is it a good alternative to fossil fuel.

THANK YOU!!!
