make the thrust go through a tunnel far enough away from the generating turbines to keep them safe from burning up use the wasted part of the thrust to get electricity each time a cargo rocket ,probe or shuttle takes off . prob run the state of NY for a month geared right ! We have put a man on the moon you know ,surely we can use whats already gonna be there anyway.

topic, im looking to use .5" neodymium magnets to build a low resistance wind turbine, and i dont know how to determine what would be the best size of coil & diameter of wire to generate a given amount of electricity per rotation/etc...

I'm making a small wind turbine for a science project. It doesn't need to produce a lot of electricity, just enough to register on a multimeter. I just need to know: For the generator, are magnets and coils the only things I need for the turbine to generate electricity? Or is there something else I'm missing? I just need this cleared up.

if yes then please tell me if 1m cube air passes through it at 10 meters per second , then how much electricity will be generated by the turbine.

Can we use the Earth's core or volcanoes to produce renewable energy by using the enormous heat to vaporize water or hydrogen into steam or pressured gas to spin a turbine to generate mega watts of electricity?

The first step would require us to understand the area of continents in 3D perspective. We would have to drill around a one to two thousand mile deep hole from any land mass. Is this feasible?

currently the public school systems are going down the tubes, an the expenses are rising faster from the Energy companys for gas and Electricity. Every state has the same problem state wide for funding the school on yearly budgets. We have the answers to help the situation, here in our country. Do we have to outsource this answer also. The state budgets are being passed with higher numbers each year, so why not find a American way to stop the rising expenses and maybe even lower then and also help the electric company's make more elelctricity. Putting up Wind Generation units accross each Dst. evenly in each state where enough wind is produced can knock the bills down for the school systems, and any extra electricity made can be bought back by the local electric companys at local rates for credit to the schools. Right now the electric companys have to barrow a lot of electricity from other states, at much higher prices, lets put a dent in this problem, for our kids future!

I am talking about potential to produce electricity out of wind, solar power, or potential to create biofuels.

The US Depertment of Energy says we currently have a generating capacity of about 1 trillion watts. About 70% of that is currently coming from the burning of fossil fuels, about 10% from nuclear, 7.7% hydroelectric dams, 2.4% from wind, solar, geothermal etc. See the link below for the source.

How should we try to change those numbers in the future? I'm looking for the relative proportions of each source you think we should aim for, e.g. "one third solar, one third wind, one third fossil, a little nuclear" or even exact revised persentages. Or even if you think the current numbers are OK.

I know that Germany is the leading nation in prodcucing electricity, etc from Wind energy. But the govt should have passed some laws taht would encourage wind power right? Also, are the ppl taht use wind power given subsidies, etc

I'm from México, and as you can research there is no funding for this type of projects neither from the goverment or from the companies, since we usually adapt from tecnology and products from other countries.
I have been working on a Project about a device capable of generate electricity through a self mechanism, it needs a starter that can be from a battery or a UPS and does not need any other type of fuel or other external agent.
The mechanism which I have been working is capable of producing about 5 KW at a time, any way, I believe that through a higher grade of research and development, it could be built a bigger one to generate over this KW or even a smaller one that could generate less KW and get a use for a ton of different uses.
For this Project I’m considering the patenting process, any way, the reason that I´m trying to get help is because in Mexico, the regulations and the high grade of corruption makes it very hard for me to acomplish this process.

Came across this interesting article on Tiny Plastic Wind Turbines that can be placed on rooftops and balconies in crowded cities. Cost very little. These turbines generate electricity which gets stored in cells and can be used to power appliances.

Are such products being installed some place?

What are the costs involved? Installation, maintenance?

Wind turbines generate electricity through magnetic induction. The blades turn a rotor lined with magnets through copper coils, thus generating voltage. The question is WHAT determines the power output. If the wind is constant, is it the strength of the magnets? Or the length of the copper wire in the coils? Any way a lay-person can figure this out and come up with reasonable voltages expected?

is it feasible to charge the battery with wind turbine instead of solar panels. would i get enough power from the wind to charge the battery? or the DC motor driving the car would consume all of the battery charge before it will get charged from the wind turbine??

There are lots of worthless people around - homeless, prisoners, the morbidly obese. Why not stick them all in a huge electricity generating turbine and make them push a wheel around or something and if they don't comply they are killed and used as fuel?

My area has an average of 10.5 MPH wind yearly

Setup: Maybe an Ametek PM 30V DC generator with inverter, battery(ies) and homebuilt or purchased blades/hub, etc. nothing too fancy

Purpose: To be able to power light or small evaporative cooler if electricity goes out (and to learn/have fun)

Questions: 1) Is this setup able to power the above 2) when not used for emergency, will the inverters that plug in the wall actually make any difference in electric bill?

Sense the sun, wind, water, electricity, etc is free energy once it's captured, and there are no recurring payments to make, and people have the potential for being "off-the-grid", and they'll be no more refueling your car... how will the Government tax us?

If they don't tax it, where will the money come from to maintain roads, bridges, etc? I would think that they would have to make it up somewhere... right or wrong?
