I am looking at my bill and I use on average about 50 KWH per day.....I dont know if thats high but I want to know what size of an solar power panel should I get or wind turbine to at least cut this in half or more....I would rather want the system to be grid tied.
By the way I live in middle Tennessee we are in zone 4 so we get 4.5 hours of direct sun and I dont now about average wind speeds.

Does anybody know if there is any federal assistance available in the form of loans or grants to set up a windmill or solar paneling in a private residential house?

Meaning...
On average, what does it take in wind speeds to disrupt residential power lines at the poles.
Is there some spec that they have to be rated against?

We're in the middle of a high wind warning where we're having sustained winds in the 35-40mph range and gusts up to 60mph. Are these speeds likely to cause power issues (downed lines, flickers etc), or are the chances pretty minimal? I don't mind losing power, but if the chances are on the higher side, I'd rather be aware of that now.

Assuming enough wind farms are made.
The power could come from windfarms miles away!

Explain how it works. How powerful one wind power "farm" would be. Your opinion on it.

Hi,
I'm doing my ISU and i have a simple question:
Would you pay more money on your electricity bill for wind power? What about other clean renewable energy?

Thanks a lot!
I need a chart, it doesn't have to be a bar graph, but that would be really nice if it was. Or maybe some website links that show me how much wind energy is being produced?
if you could find it in the years between 1990 and 2011 that would be great, but it doesn't really matter.
Thanks again

I'm not sure if i'm wording this correctly but does anyone know (if there is an/the) equation for how much weight wind can keep up if it is blowing towards the ground?

So they want to build six 140meter wind turbines in my village. I know theyre unsightly but I can see past that if wind turbines are actually a good thing. I've read so much contrasting information on this type of energy though, are they worth the eyesore??

And other alternative renewable energy sources?
I just do not understand. If you do not like it please tell me why, or if you do please give me your opinion why others do not?
Be nice & thanks
I actually like wind turbines, they are beautiful and look like giant pinwheels!
Seriously Andy? There is a thing called batteries..that is like saying 'I am afraid my cell phone won't work if its not plugged into the wall!'
And the environmentalists totally wants alternative energy.

What costs more per kwh, nuclear or wind power? How should I debate nuclear over wind?

A big concern surrounding wind energy is the safety of birds. Is there a current model that eliminates this problem? If so, is there a version of that model for home use?

I like to know how much it would cost to by a wind turbine to power my home an that includes professional installation. How much on average would i have to pay yearly for maintenance costs. Would i get a task cut from the government. If you can answer my questions that would be helpful. Thanks!

springing up all over the country?
It just seems to me that if one of those big boys goes down it could be a problem. A number of smaller ones would allow one to break down without losing everything.

Concidering wind power. Does the kit come complete? And will the investment pay off?
