However, many people do not want to live close to them. They are unsightly and make a lot of noise. There is currently a plan to build a huge wind farm off Cape Cod. Right now on a large scale they are simply a waste of time. With that said we do need to invest more and install some plants now, in 50 years it may not be a waste of time. In order for our system to work we need a fairly constant and predictable energy supply. Wind is niether constant nor predicutable. We would have to store that energy.
