There are alot of new ideas, but nothing as truley taken hold, as far as transportation energy. And, other alternative energies are not very popular. I think because of a few reasons.
1. It costs money and time to save the environment and until it becomes completley clear to the masses that we need to take action, it will be too much trouble until then.
2. People are resigned. People may talk a good talk, but when it comes down to it most people don’t really think it is truley possible to even make a dent into our energy problems.
3. Big business and government are not behind it yet.
If we all just take little steps and do small things, those small things will turn into making a big difference.
i live in the heart of florida.. orlando
obviously its solar..
if you live on a ranch in the middle of nebraska you may think about wind. or if you live near a falling river maybe hydro
That works? Nothing so far.
Just dig very deep into your pockets while they try to tell you just how good it is working.
Personally, I think that solar energy is the best type of alternative energy.
But you can check out this site to see all of the different types of alternative energy and how they each benefit the environment:

They will all produce the same CO2 for the same hp.
Solar energy is by far the best! You can also replace your light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs. All this helps stop Global Warming.
Hope this helps!
