The idea is that the West in general and the U.s, in particular, should be more self-sufficient in energy resources to reduce dependence on oil imports from the Middle East
Discuss the renewable energy sources, consumption or energy crises in this country where, why, possible controlling factors. Like what are new sources of energy? Factors such as pollution, inexpensive etc.
The annual electrical energy demand is 300,000,000 KWh. Is it possible to build a wind farm that could provide electricity throughout the year? If so, how many wind mills will be required to build the wind farm. Average wind speed is 15 mph. A state-of-the-art windmill has a rotor blade length of 75 m and the practical efficiency of a wind mill is 40%.
Are there any through Vanguard? (I think they only have an energy fund with 80% in oils, yuck!)
I've got 00 to invest....would like alternative energy index funds...with low expense ratio...and good returns.
What do I buy and where do I buy it through?
i.e. the cost, efficiency and advantages of usin wind power instead of burning fossil fuels
Hi,
I'm doing my ISU and i have a simple question:
Would you pay more money on your electricity bill for wind power? What about other clean renewable energy?
I have just got this assignment and i have to make an alternative energy vehicle, it can be a plane, car, boat etc (miniature). I really want to get an a or real good mark so do you have any suggestions or websites etc to help. Thanx
i want to do masters in wind energy plz suggest me that wind energy has jobs in europian countries r in in any where ..
How can such a stance help or hurt our economy....
I am making a very small scale model of the wind turbine for science class. I need to find a really small generator. Where I can buy that? If there isn't one, if you know if any substitution for a device converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, please refer me to it. Thanks!
I'm doing this for a project and its due tomorrow i need the argument which i have, but i need evidence to support that global warming was the cause.
thanks
Please specify me the circuits.motor/dynamo etc.I need to achieve this please.
@booboo:but i need to make a portable one a hand held one.it needs to used while traveling in a bus or a train
Hello can any any one give me the idea???
I have Engineering and MBA degrees and am trying to find a good Masters/ PhD renewable energy management program (not hardcore engineering). I am considering developed countries e.g., Scandinavia, Europe, Singapore, Canada, UK, Australia or the US.
OK. I'm looking for the website so my friend and I can figure out the prices for Riding Lessons.
Ok. The stable is a public riding stable, but you can board horses there and what not. It's located is Summerville South Carolina, and when it turns up on serch engines, it does not give the web address. I don't know what site it is, but I really need to find out.
Nuclear power's biggest problems are economic: it is simply no longer competitive with other, newer forms of power generation. The final 20 U.S. reactors cost to billion to build, or some ,000 to ,000 per kilowatt of capacity. By contrast, new gas-fired combined cycle plants using the latest jet engine technology cost 0-0 per kilowatt, and wind turbines are being installed at less than ,000 per kilowatt.
Windmill power contracts were signed with power sold at three (3) CENTS per Kw-hr. Less than half the price of the most efficient solar cell panels.
I took an AP Environmental Science class and I fell in love with the idea of harnessing alternative sources of energy to help the world. But I have no idea what major I would choose in college. I really want to go to UCSD by the way
thanks for the help:)
I live in Texas and am looking for a new energy provider. I was looking through the options and it can be filtered by "renewable energy content" ranging from 2% to 100%. What do I want here? I don't know what it means.
So do I want one that is 100%? Or less? Or the least?
I heard that the output was low, variable and the back up generators were on all the time - hence no reduction in C emissions and an unreliable wind energy input. Was this correct information?
Please say yes/no and why.
I work a lot and sometimes I literally go to work 7 hours after I get off the night before. Sometimes my shifts are as long as 10 or 11 hours in length and I usually consume 1 or 2 energy drinks to wake me up and when I need to power through to the end. I know how bad energy drinks can be if consumed regularly, but its the easiest way for me to wake up. I hate coffee, and I just need an easy alternative.
Thanks!
I'm studying an article on wind turbines. The article says that for electricity generation, a wind turbine rotating at high speed providing a low torque is preferable to a turbine rotating at a low speed and producing a high torque. Can anyone explain why this is the case? Surely the speed could be altered easily using a sequence of gears before the generator?
