The atomic bomb took a year and a half to develop, while America has spent in excess of ten years supposedly "working" towards cleaner, more environmentally conscious fuel-alternatives. Am I the only one who thinks that the people in power (the people getting rich off of oil) don't actually want America to move past our dependence on oil (and as a result our dependence on shady Middle Eastern nations)? Anyone have any solutions? Just curious what you think.

Since wind doesn't blow all the time, obviously there are times when it's supplying zero homes. So how do they get that figure that's put out of 5000, 10000 or whatever? Potential maximum output 100% of the time?

What would be good alternatives in texas?

wind turbine specialist, anyone?

i worked for my experiment for small wind turbine for residential application, its not new but its not either known for many, can anyone help please? any research, technology tips, website,

Once those power grids are installed,
the only cost is maintenance.
The state of Maryland has it.

ABC reported that Exxon spends 1 percent of its profits on alternative energy sources.

Is solar Energy a Real Renewable resource?

Okay so i am doing this project over Renewable energy and i have deeply thought about this. Is solar energy really Renewable? Because if the sun is slowly burning out, and may become Complete darkness one day, it wont make Solar power a Renewable resouce because it will Never last forever right?

if i needed to power a pump with these specifications:
1.5hp, 240v, 8a
how many watts would the wind turbine need to supply?

Hydroelectric energy compared to wind energy?

How much does it cost to build a hydroelectric dam compared to a wind farm?

I am also interested in green building.

What is the future of renewable energy?

What country leads the industry and what specific type of renewable energy is it?

Is Wind a form of radiant energy?

I understand that wind is cause by differences in air pressure due to solar or radiant energy... but is wind itself a form of radiant energy? furthermore is the wind that we harness for "wind power" radiant energy?

to try to come up with new ideas? I need a job. a green job, preferably.

Can someone point me to a Primary or Seconadry source that has the number or percent of American Homes that have access to renewable energy?

Thanks
please, dont just say "30%"... I need a website or a recourse to prove it, thanks

I would like to teach my area of expertise and learn from others by building out projects......... feel free to email me....

Looking to make a balance between high electric bills and alternative energy options that can lead to potential savings.

Wind Turbine?

I live in a subdivision and previously thought using wind power to generate electricity was reserved for people with more acreage.

I was watching "Living with Ed" on HGTV and I see where he has installed a small, cylindrical wind turbine on the side of his house and I wonder who makes it and where I can get one.

Does anyone know about "subdivision-safe" wind turbines?

I was wondering about the total cost of building a wind farm or even a solar farm. What would the initial investment be?

i need a new profession and a community college near me offers a program to train you in this field but im worried that since you dont actually get a degree or nothing that i wont be able to find a job and the pay wont be that good. Its a two year course

Contray to what you hear on ABC and CNN america is not really liked. :)

My visual needs to be relevant and memorable and something I can hand out to about 25 people.

Wind farms are much less efficient than claimed, producing below 10% of capacity for more than a third of the time, according to a new report.

The analysis also suggested output was low during the times of highest demand.

The report, supported by conservation charity the John Muir Trust, concluded turbines "cannot be relied upon" to produce significant levels of power generation.

However, industry representatives said they had "no confidence" in the data.

The research, carried out by Stuart Young Consulting, analysed electricity generated from UK wind farms between November 2008 to December 2010

Statements made by the wind industry and government agencies commonly assert that wind turbines will generate on average 30% of their rated capacity over a year, it said.

But the research found wind generation was below 20% of capacity more than half the time and below 10% of capacity over one third of the time.
'Different manner'

It also challenged industry claims that periods of widespread low wind were "infrequent".

The average frequency and duration of a "low wind event" was once every 6.38 days for 4.93 hours, it suggested.

The report noted: "Very low wind events are not confined to periods of high pressure in winter.

"They can occur at any time of the year."

During each of the four highest peak demands of 2010, wind output reached just 4.72%, 5.51%, 2.59% and 2.51% of capacity, according to the analysis.

It concluded wind behaves in a "quite different manner" from that suggested by average output figures or wind speed records.

When will this utter waste of money cease and common sense prevail?
Why is so much money wasted on such an inefficient technology?
Can the world afford this wastage when so many people are suffering due to the global recession?
Is this one of the reasons why utility bills are soaring due to excessive green taxes?
What will this utter waste mean for our poor grandchildren?

It shows a little boy capturing wind in a jar and then using it to blow out his grandfather's candles. It appears GE had previously used a different song that had vocals, but I am interested in the classical guitar music. Thank you!
It is not "Catch the Wind"; that is from an older version of the commercial...there is a recent version that is only instrumental-- a classical guitar. I would love to know it's title! Thank you!

International companies are acceptable as well. Does anyone know of any companies which are in the solar or wind (or any alternative source of energy) power industry? Or any innovative companies as well.
Thank you
