Renewable Energy?

If you wanted to start a career designing and working with renewable energy like solar, wind, hydroelectric ect., what would your job title be?
If I were to start a career studying renewable energy specifically solar and trying to improve on it in the world, what would my occupation title be?
I dont want to work as the person actually buiding it, I want to be the person that figures out how the energy works. I want to work basically with all energy types but want to work on find the best way to store and produce energy. More lik a scientist wrather than an engineer.

how do you create a small wind turbine?

i need to know how for a science project and i need to have it light up a night light sized bulb

alternative energy?

CAN U CITE EXAMPLES OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND THEIR USES PLEASE????????????

Wind Energy?

Besides the fact that it can't be stored for later usage, what are some drawbacks to the harnessing and use of wind energy?

What is the most common renewable energy?

Out of Solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy, and hydro energy what is the most common?

wind power?

is there a
1) cost effective
2)electrical generating
3)efficient
windmill that could be installed on a residence.

i've seen units that cost about 40,000.00 USD.
(i donnot think this is very cost effective.)

Wind energy has little opposition except for those who claim visual pollution from the turbines and transmission lines and from others who cite loss of habitat and/or wildlife casualties as a concern.
List a concern (there are others) and a possible solution.

Whenever I see Obama/ Hillary ads on tv they just show dinky little windmills when mentioning alternative energy.

So i would be happy if you suggest me some topics in which i can do my project under renewable energy sources.

wind power??????????

We have a lot of wind here in the Midwest US. I was just wondering why the heck we don't have more? I am very concerned about conserving fossil fuels and the environment. I think that we shoud decrease our fossile fuel usage by about 40%. It's a big stretch, but with new hybrid technology coming soon. and with exploring alternative energy sources. How can I write a letter convincing the government to make more wind plants even before the presidential election?
thanks,
Sam

did vote against 10 pieces of legislation put forward involving alternative energies?
Do you think his ad with windmills is just another phony dog and pony show.

I know the nation is an fuel crisis, not an energy crisis people. I don't have a solar car so the sun is going to be no help in getting to the grocery store. What is America supposed to do to get these gas prices down? I feel raped when I pull away from the pumps. The politicians have no control over the prices. The big 5 oil compaines are just stuffing their pockets and the people keep paying the price because WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE.

how is wind energy good for illlinois?

can someone give me a site that has like quotes that will tell you that wind energy is good for IL. And if you have quotes tell me what sites you got the info from. I want the info from reliable sources like American Wind Energy Assocaition(AWEA) and U.S Department of Energy

I have to make a powerpoint and write a speech based on fossil fuels vs renewable energy. My teacher never specified what information to include in our research. What do i include?

Or, instead of using solar heat, why not use the heat from volcanos, or underground lava streams to create electricity? Would it be possible? I've often wondered this.

Have any of you built a small wind turbine?

I'm looking to experiment with a wind turbine over the the holidays. I want to build one and learn how they work. Are they efficient, is there a step by step process, how much will it cost? It doesn't need to power my home, this is just for fun.

I have to write a paper thats due in a few days reguarding alternative energy, solar panel (design, technology and effiecency) windmills (design, technology and effiecency) and nucelar energy(design, technology and effiecency) and i cant find anything!!! any help guys?

Wind Power?

Hey everyone. I have this stupid science prject coming up and I am doing it on wind power. I was wondering if someone could tell me that when the blades turn, and generate the electricity, where does the electricity go after it is generated? Thanks. And don't tell me to search it up.
What is the power grid?

Essay Prompt...What is the most important environmental problem we face and why? ....................................................................................................................................................................................................

I believe the most telling environmental problem that the United States (and many other countries) will face in the near future will be the transition away from a fossil fuel based society. In order to accomplish this, we must make a concerted push towards an environmentally conscious, technologically advanced, and humanistic renewable energy generation. The resources available to achieve this are essentially limitless, with new ways to utilize them being introduced almost daily. As a matter of fact, there are some extremely promising options that are already in use, such as the production of wind, solar, and geothermal energy. Ultimately though, it will be public policy and political decision makers which will dictate whether or not these efforts are successful, halfhearted, or even pursed at all.

Let me know what I can do to improve this, best answer will get best answer....

The U.S?

People worrying about the harmful environmental effects of these two power sources along with nuclear power generation, was the reason these types of energy sources were supressed in the first place.

Would Americans trade off the Carbon dioxide emitting fuels for radiation, dead birds, and dead fish?

I'm all for it. I'd love to see our dependence on foreign oil reduced. I'm just wondering if the global warming crowd is going to clash with the Peta crowd.
Please not that a dam made for hydroelectrice power would destroy most species of fish upstream of that dam. This would then have wider effects on the larger ecosystem

In other words, humans will be ok, bears not so much.
And with the slower windmills comes the noise pollution....
Not to mention the number of windmills that would be needed to produce as much power as we use right now would probably cover the U.S.

I am a high school student and will be taking an independent study course next year. Essentially, I am responsible for designing and carrying out the curriculum throughout the year, with a faculty adviser checking in with me occasionally. I have decided that the subject of my independent study course will be something along the lines of alternative energy or alternative fuels.

Does anybody know of any text books or helpful resources that I could use during my independent study course? I plan to do research, perform labs and experiments, and visit local labs, refineries, and perhaps a power plant. However, a textbook on alternative energy that I could follow would be very helpful. Even better would be a book with labs or experiments in it that I could perform.

If you have any ideas on how I can put together this course and make it the best it can be, let me know! Thanks.

Wind energy?

where does wind get the energy
