I understand that there are environmental aspects like building new roads and disrupting wildlife, but there is so much ideal land, and offshore wind farms are another possibility.

As a geography major, I've done extensive research on alternative energy. I have a new idea called "rain power." I think we should instill rooftop generators incorporated into rainwater collection. Rain falls diagonally rather than straight. Therefore, the terminal velocity from the raindrops could spin these turbines and generate electricity. Monsoon Season in Asia would be fantastic for producing it. The same is true regarding hurricane season in the Gulf Coast and rainy season in the Pacific Northwest. What do you think? Do we have the brain power to harness rain power?

For example, placing small wind turbines right next to the high-speed highways.

I know he's done a lot to make sure that we have an adequate supply of oil but what has he done to make renewable energy more practical for the future in terms of research and funding?

~please include websites for me to read up on

How efficient and effective is wind power?

I've heard that most wind farms would be far away from heavily populated areas, and that peak seasons for electricty are the worst times of the year for wind.

I've also heard that it's cheaper to produce electricity with coal than wind?

This IS a political issue!

I am a high ranking politican seeking public opinions on the subject of alternative energy legislation.

looking into investing in wind energy companies such as Vestas or REpower. anyone else invested in them or share how they feel about wind energy as an investment in whole? thanks

What size building can one Wind Turbine power?

How large of a building can one average sized wind turbine power? I don't know what all of the energy vocab means. Is it closer to a small house or apartment or more like a whole school?

Where I live the universities do not offer degrees in renewable energy, but do offer classes in it. I know that going into engineering is a plus but I am honestly not a "technical" person. I'd do much better in sales (in financial sales now for 5 years). Any advice would be appreciated.

It starts with a global reality show which is funded by world governments, and private entities, offering a substantial cash award, along with the first of its kind, global recogniton award for the best alternative energy source, as well as the most cost effective means to incorporate it into existing refinery sources, with the least amount of downtime and transitional cost. Also--Israel set up a donation system for planting trees resulting in 200 million trees planted. Why cant our government do the same by allowing tax breaks for people to donate money to the government for planting fruit trees. These trees produce oxygen, burn C02, and would result in greater agricultural exports, providing revenue, and the produce could be donated to welfare families, thereby reducing the amount of money each family would need to receive in federal funding. And eliminate people selling their food stamps. The reduction in welfare could save tax payers money. What do you think of this idea?

Would electronically charging a battery that powers a motor the best option, or would having it wind up a rubber band or something like that be more effective? Any other ideas are encouraged.

How do I go about doing that? What're some good companies to work for?

The cell of your body absolutely does not use nucleic acids as alternative energy sources. Suggest why?

while developing tidal turbines which wil be installed in the coastal areas for generation of electricity can we also join them rotor blades which wil be above water and develop electricity from fast moving streams of air? this will increase the outputof plant doubly!

my parents own land in Upstate New York, I was wondering how to go about leasing said land to a wind energy developer?

o What are some challenges with using and managing wind power, solar energy, and biomass fermentation as alternative renewable
energy resources?
o Name at least one other renewable energy resource.
o Include a response to the following: Nonrenewable energy resources include coal,
oil, and natural gas. Describe three common challenges with managing
nonrenewable energy resources.

I use green mountain energy co. and they supply renewable energy sources that cut down on pollution, like windmills. Is this considered a tax deduction?
I live in Texas

In less time than it would take to produce more gas. I would think an oil refinery would take the same time to build as a alternative energy refinery would and have the same effects on the environment. Your thoughts?

Should China set up solar thermal farms in the Gobi desert? I believe renewable energy can help clean up China's dirty skies. What do you think?

i can't find the right words to ask but what i want is to know the parts and uses of a small wind turbine that can light a light bulb and that it depends on the wind not the generator. i want to make a small wind turbine that is handy and the parts are very affordable..it's ok if it only produce a little amount of electricity...pls suggest asap..tnx in advance!!

why are the environmentalist blocking wind power? in some parts of the usa. You would think they would want wind power everywhere. They say wind power kill birds. those blades move to slow to kill a birds i think. There also blocking solar power in the desert. why?

How do Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) work?

Is it an incentive to use renewable energy?

i am considering majoring in chemical engineering, environmental sciences... or maybe agriculture. i'm not really sure.
ideally i would like a career with a high salary. what should i do to achieve a decent career in alternative energy? i am a sophomore in high school and i'm planning on taking college courses this spring.

im doing my science fair about solar and wind energy producing a/c.so i have to know how many watts per hour does solar energy AND wind energy produce for an a/c unit system.PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!

Wind power is available for an EXTRA $.05/kwh in Obama supporting PA.

But few residents buy it.

Isn't it time for Democrats to tell all of us --- poor, elderly, rich, young --- that we must use wind energy to help save the planet no matter what it costs?
